What kind of students do you work with?
I've worked with a wide range of students including those new to university, returning with new ambitions and those with a specific goal in mind.
How do the sessions work?
Whilst each session is different there are always elements of reflection and space is given to the student to think and discuss their goals and process. Activities are often used to aid review.
How do I find out more and consider which option might be most effective for me?
There is a free video or phone consultation available before signing up for any of the services on offer. During this consultation, I can take you through the different options and answer any questions you may have. There is no pressure to sign up during the call — any booking can be made later via email.
Can I book an individual session to see if more structured support is right for me?
Absolutely. An individual session gives you the opportunity to work with me and see whether the support is likely to be effective for you. If you then choose to sign up for a course or ongoing support, the cost of the individual session will be deducted from the overall fee.
Can a parent book on behalf of a student?
Parents are welcome to book with the student and may wish to join the consultation call. However, I can only work directly with a student if they agree, and all sessions with the student will be one-to-one.
Why have I created the Personal Uni Tutor service?
I believe university students benefit greatly from the kind of personal support many schools provide. While university fosters independence, guidance can make a real difference in helping students grow, find balance, and reach their goals.
I have spent my career in boarding schools, including eight years leading a boarding house and overseeing pastoral provision for both UK and international students. This experience taught me the value of one-to-one mentoring, where focused, personalised support often leads to lasting progress.
Beyond supporting students, I have mentored colleagues and pursued ongoing professional development in coaching, ensuring my guidance is informed, practical, and tailored to each individual’s needs.
